Puolueiden vuonna 2015 saamien valtionavustusten käyttöä koskevassa tarkastuksessa ei havaittu mitään olennaista säännösten tai määräysten vastaista, ilmenee oikeusministeriön tarkastuskertomuksesta. Puolueiden pitäisi kuitenkin edelleen kiinnittää huomiota tilityslomakkeen täyttämiseen ja piirijärjestöjen yhtenäisten kirjaustapojen kehittämiseen.
Valtioneuvosto myönsi avustuksia eduskunnassa edustettuina oleville puolueille yhteensä 31 840 000 euroa vuonna 2015. Hieman yli puolet avustussummasta osoitettiin poliittisen toiminnan tukemiseen ja loput tiedotustoiminnan ja viestinnän tukemiseen.
Oikeusministeriö valvoo valtioneuvoston myöntämän puoluetuen käyttöä sekä puoluelain noudattamista siltä osin kuin valvonta ei kuulu Valtiontalouden tarkastusvirastolle. Vuoden 2015 avustuksia koskevan tarkastuksen suorittamiseen osallistui tilintarkastusyhteisö KPMG Oy Ab. Tarkastushavainnot on saatettu puolueiden tietoon.
Puolueiden valtionavustuksen käytön valvonta siirtyy oikeusministeriöstä Valtiontalouden tarkastusvirastolle vuoden 2016 osalta ja siitä eteenpäin.
